WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS COMING UPON US.

Like a thief at night it steals in upon u» unawares. Many persons have pains about the chest and sides, and sometimes in theback. They feel dull and sleepy ; the mouth Has a bad taste especially in the morning. A. sort of sticky slima collects about thY cceth. The appetite is poor. There i 3 a> feeling like a heavy load on the stomach; sometimes a faint all-gone sensation at thepit of tho stomach which food does not) satisfy. The eyes aie sunken, the hands and feet become cold and feel clammy. After a while a cough sets in at first dry, but after a few months it is attended with a greenish coloured expectoz'ation. The afflicted one feels tired all the while, and Bleep does not seem to afford any rest, After a time ho becomes nervous, irritable, and gloomy, and has evil forebodings, There is a giddiness, a sort of whirling sensa» tion in the head when rising up suddenly. The bo weld become costivo ; the skiu is dry and hot at times ; the blood becomes thick and stagnant; the whites of thei eyes become tinged with yellow, the urine is scanty and high-coloured, depositing,o> sediment after standing There is frequently a bpitting up of the food, some times with a sour taste , and sometimes with, a sweetish taste ; this is frequently attended with palpitation of the heart ; the> vision becomes impaired with spots befor* the eyes ; there is a feeling of great pz'os* tration and weakness. AH of these symptoms are in turn present. It is thought that nearly one-third of ous population has* this disease in some of it's varied fonms. It has been found that medical men ha\y mistaken the nature of this disease. Son*, have treated it for a liver complaint, other* for kidney disease, etc., but none of the various kinds of treatment have beenatteP ded with success, because the rtmedj. ohould be such as to act harmoniously upoa each one of these organs, and upon the stomach as well ; lor In Dyspepsia (foe this is really what the disease is) all of- these organs partake of this disease and require a remedy that will act upon all at the same time. Siegel's Curative Syrup acte- Jiktt a charm in this class of complaints^ giving almost immediate relief. The following letters from chemists of standings in tho community whore they live show ixt what the article is held. o'ohn Archer, Harthill, noar Sheffield :— I can con6dently recommend' ifc to. all whfi liay be suffering from livsr or stomach ton>plaints, having the testimony of my customers, who have derived great benefit from the Syrup and Pills. S, Metcalfe, 55, Highgate, Kendal :— I have aSwtii^s great pleasure in recommending tho Curative Syrup, for I have never known a case which it has not reHeited or cured, and I have sold many grosser. Armstcad, Market Street, Dalton-ia-Furness :—lt> is needless for me co say that your valuable medicine '» \o great sale in this district— great >•• urn any other I know of, giving great satis i.iction. Robt. Lame, Melk&ham:— l can well recommend the Curative Syrup from having proved its efficacy for indigestion myself. Friockheim, Arbroath, Forf ara hire,

Sept. 23, 18S2. Dear Sir,— Last year I sent you a letter recommending Mother Seigel's Syrup I have very much pleasure in still bearing testimony to the very satisfactory results of the famed Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines die out with me; but Mother Beigel has had a steady sale ever since I aommenced, and Is still in as great demanc as when I first began to sell the medicine The cures which have come under my notice are chiefly those of liver complaint and general debility. A certain minister in my neighbourhood aays it is the only thins: which has benefited him and restored him to his normal condition of health after being unable to preach for a considerable length of time. I could mention also a great many other cases, but space would not allow. A near friend of mine, who is very much addicted to costive ness or constipation, finds that Mother Seigel's Pills are the only Pills which' suit his complaint, All other pills cause a reaction, which is very annoying. Mother Beigel's Pills do not leave a bad after-effect. I have much pleasure in commending cgain. to suffering humanity Mother Seigel's meu;cinea, which are no sham. If this letter is of any service you can publish it. Yours very truly, (Signed) Wm. S. Glass, Chemist. A. J. White, Esq.

15th August, 1833. Dear Sir,— l write to tell you that Mr Henry Hillier, of Yatesbury, Wilts, informs aio that he Buffered from a severe form of indigestion for upwards of four years, and fcook no end of doctor's medicine without tho slightest benefit, and declares Mother Seigol's Syrup which he got from me ba» saved his life. Ycurs truly(Binned) N. "Webb, Mx. Wbitfc. Chomiat Oftlo*
