A Tilt Between Bonaparte and His Attendant Physician.
While Napoleon I. was on the Island of St. Helena he was attended by a Dr. Warden of the English Navy. This representative of tho healing art on that distant coast was not fond of the Emperor, and it is said that the antipathy was mutual. ' f How many sick people have you killed, in your time, Doctor ?" asked Napoleon oxn& day in his blunt fashion. " N<;s near as many as you have sent well ones to heaven," was tho pat reply.
To get up a dinner of great variety, cooks should be allowed a wide range.
