' Selling off,' invariably means that the buyer will be ' sold.' ' Wines from the wood,' that wood (logwood) is greatly used in their manufacture. 'Selling at an immense sacrifice' frequently means that the proprietor has reduced his percentage of profit from one hundred to ninety-nine and threequarters. 'An early clearance is desired/ means that the owner is desirous of laying hands on as much ready cash as he can, and 'clearing out' himself. * Don't be deceived,' means that you stand a very good chance of being so if you take any notice of the advertisement. 'Just out ' is what you are very likely to be if you believe all you see and hear.
