A Young Lord Who Will Have £100,000 a Year.

A ROYAL INCOME.

Loud Porcitester, the Earl of Carnarvon*? eldest son, has just come of age, and there were great rejoicings at Bretby and Highclere. Lord Porchester comes into the splendid Chesterfield property, which was left by the seventh Earl of Chesterfield to his sister, the late Lady Carnarvon, for life, with the remainder to her children, in strict entail. The property has greatly increased in value, and now brings in over £40,000 a year, while during Lord Porchester's minority the trustees have been enabled to get together a good, round sum of ready money. Bretby House, near Burton-on-thc-Trent, is a comparatively modern residence, but the late Lady Chesterfield spent a large sum in decorating and improving the interior, and it is one of the most comfortable houses in the country. Lord Por - Chester will be very rich, for, besides his own splendid fortune, he is heir to his father's large estate, which produces at least £30,000 a year. Altogether the young Earl of Carnarvon will have nearly £100,000 a year.
