Suicide of a Doctor.
On Saturday evening the residents of Hunt 3i %> 8 Hill were shocked with < the news that Dr. Leutaigne had committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver. Dr. Leutaigne was quite a young man, about 25 or 26 years of age. He was son of the late Sir John Leutaigne, Bart,., Ireland. He had suffered from paralysis ' for some time, although not severely enough to hinder him practising his profession. He leaves a widow and one child. The medical evidence showed that there was an empty cartridge in one of the chambers which nad been apparently discharged. On the body there was two wounds in the head on the left side, about/ "half an inch above the outer angle of the left orbit. The wound might have been inflicted by ( r,he deceased. It was possible that the pistol might aci'idently have gone off when deceased was reaching it down.
In Michigan, U.S., the authorities insni* the lives of the inmates of poorhouses, and it is insinuated make money by facilitating the exit of the paupers.
