At the Wavlen's Court, Thames, on Thursday last, the follow ing applications for protection were granted : — Sutro G. M. Co., Karangahake, on* 1 month ; R. Clements, Imperial claim, KurangahaUe, one month. The sale of forfeited licensed holding, Alexandra, situated at Waitekauri, took place at the same Court same day, and resulted in a spirited competition ; tho applicants boini? Messrs E. K. Cooper, J. A. Miller, and P. Byrne. The bid ding started at £2 2s, and quickly advanced to £35, at. which figure the ground was knocked down to Mr E. K. Cooper. Application For license for the Josephine mine at Karangahake, was adjourned to September Bth.
