New Guinea News. PUNISHING MORESBY ISLAND MURDERERS.

Rapid has visited the north side of Moiesby Island, whoie the crew of the I'iide of the Logan were massacred and eaten, and destroyed se\eml villages, cutting down the cocoa-palms and the bush. H.M.S. Harrier also proceeded to that part of the island and .shelled several villager, which were deployed. Theso consist of one cr two houses, which can be inbuilt in two days. The only way to punish the inmdeiers would be by landing a party and tiaeing them out, which could easily be accomplished, a« no denso jungle exi&t on the ibland, where many inland ullages offer a safe icfuge to the coast nathc-.
