It is not thought that the operation of the sixth section of the Crimes Act is intended to suppress the National League, but it is feared that the section will prove inoperative in any way against the League, owing to their having resolved to alter its name and constitution, and bring it under the protection of the Trades Unions and Benefit Societies Act.

The duties upon dressed timbers would be variously increased, undressed timbers, including kauri, being admitted free.
