Later News from New Guinea. MASSACRE OF FRIENDLY NATIVES.

The Truganini (8.)( 8. ) arrived at Thursday Island from New Guinea on June 24th, and brings 20 tons pearlshell, obtained by the Island prospectors. Information has been received at Port Moresby of the massacre at Motu Motu of Taraki, the South Sea Island teacher, and five friendly natives. The special Commissoner left Port Moresby on the 19th in the cutter Ada to render assistance to Edefelt, the Government agent at Motu Motu. This district has been in a disturbed state for some time, and Mr Douglas considered it necessary to make some demonstration so as to fcecuro tranquillity.
