Live up to your engagements. Earn money before you spend it. Never play at any game of chance. Drink no kind of intoxicating drink. Good character above all things else. Never run into debt, unless you see plainly a way to get out again. Small and steady gains give competency with tranquillity of mind. Good company and good conversation are the very sinews of virtue.
