Probable Commutation Sentence.
Wellington, July 12. The papers in the Gisbovne murder case have been sent to the Minister of Justice at Auckland. The judges report that there was nothing in the evidence to justify a remission of the sentence, but it is understood that tho Cabinet are favouiable to a commutation in A'iew of the superstitious surroundings of the crime. The sentence will probably be altered to a term of imprisonment sufficient to mark the sens@ of the gravity of the deed, but not so vigorous as would be applied in the case of Europeans oy Ijad the victims been Europeans,
