Vsuse and Frazer were the prime movers and chief workers, nnd these gentlemen must have felt highly gratified at the suece c s which attcndol their efforts. Mr. Gr. Wilson occupied the chair, and the following was the programme submitted : — Part I. Overture, piano, Misses Wninwright and Pavitt ; song, " Onr Captain," Mr. Paviti ; song, " Happy Dreamland," M'P.s Hartley ; song, comic, "The Kicking Mule," Mr. Vanse ; song, "Ye Banks and Braes," Miss Itcid ; recitation, " The Prize Jubilee Ode," Rev. S. Lawry; " Dou le Sailors Hornpipe," Masters Tonge ; song, " Come back to Erin," Mr. Redfern ; gong, " The Mountebank," Miss Tonge; song, comic in character, "Bother the Men," Mr. Vauso ; " Highland Fling," in full Highland costume, Mr. T. Scott ; National Anthem, " God Save the Queen," by the assembly. Part 2. — An Original Pantomime, entitled, " Jubdee Jinks." The entertainment was in every respect a great success, tb« various singers, who were in excellent voice, were heartily applauded, and several encores demanded and responded to. The delivery of the prize Jubilee Ode, the graceful dancing of the double sailors hornpipe by the Masters Tonge, and the Highland fling by Mr. Scott, were heartily applauded, as was also Mr. VauWs song, in character, " Bother the Men," which was immense ; in foot each one did their part well. The Pantomime provoked roars of laughter, and the get up of the clown and his associates displayed greab fertility of imagination. At the conclusion of the entertainment the hall was cleared for dancing, in which many couples engaged for several houre, and this brought to a close the programme for the celebration of Jubilee day at Te 4.roha.
