Last Sunday this place was visited by the hou. Thomas Russell, who was accompanied by Messrs J. 15. .Russell, Henry Uussell, Thomas Morriu, and J. W. Walker, who a»"o all inteiesfed in the Union Mine, which they inlend floating on the English market as soon as possible, There are now about 500 tons of ore broken out at this mine, which never looked so well at any other stage of its development, and, when theie, 1 am satisfied that the hon. Mr Russell saw sufficient to convince him that this propei ty offers a safe investment for capital. ' The repairs to the Martha w a tor- race are progressing rapidly towards completion, and the manager hopes to be able to start the battery early in the ensuing week, when there will be enough stone available to keep it fully employed for some considerable time.
