LITEST FROM AUCKLAND. Auckland, Last Night. Inspector o'Snllivan has sent a report to the Board of Education in reply to the Secretary's report, in which he admits that most of the Bchools are in a fair condition, but contends that the defects which he has pointed out would, unless' remedied, lead to the crumbling "of the system. Inspector Fidler has forwarded a report very favourable to the condition of the schools throughout the educational district. The unemployed have registered their names to the number of 263. \
BODY FOUND.— SUPPOSED SUICIDE Christchurcu, Last Night. Yesterday morning the body of John McDonald, a patient at the hospital, was found in the river. He is supposed to have committed suicide, and was seen half an hour before by an attendant, and lie then appeared aIJ right.
LATEST PARLIAMENTARY FINANCIAL DEBATE POSTPONED— VOTE OF WANT OF CONFIDFNCE. Wellington, Last Nfeht. The'financial debate hasbeenpostponed until Wednesday next. Mr Ormond moves a direct vote of want of confidence, and the Opposition are more confident of success.
