DISMISSAL OF PUBLIC WORKS OFFICIALS.
Wellington, Wednesday. La hue reductions in bhe Public Works Department, necessitated by the falling in of contracts as the year progresses, are being made. Yesterday fifty notices were issued to various officers throughout the colony that their services would be dispensed with ab the end of September. The reductions include sevei-al high officials.
