TE AROHA POLICE COURT. (Before H. A. Stratford, Esq., R.M.,) Wednesday, March 29th 1887.

Police v. Hiriu Smallman, of Katikafci (late of Paharakeke, Te Aroha), a lad of about 15 years of age, was charged by Sergeant Etne.son, with stealing in June 18b6, a bay maro valued at £10 from Meke Ngakuru (native policeman.) A number of witnesses were examined in this case, which resulted in accused being discharged. Same v. Same : Accused was charged u ith the larccncy of a 'horse the property Erane Rangimawhili (wife of J. \V. JR. Guilding). This case also resulted in the discharge of accused. Same v. Same : The charge in this instance was that of stealing a horse the property of Mcrea Wikiriwhi. After evidence had been given in tin's case, accused admitted having stolen the horeo in question. The judgment of the Cjurt was that accused be fined £± f being four times the supposed value of the horse, and to pay costs amounting £5 13a 6d.
