A Calcutta despatoh of February I(3' b cays : —In all the chief cities of India to day imposing fetes were held iv commemoration ot the Queen's Jubilee. The celebration** will last three days, In all Christian churches and in native temples and mosque-> thanksgiving eervicoe were held. A num. ber of prisoners, who have beon in dm e*-s for debt or for offences against civil ami military law, were bet free at dftylighf Twenty five thousand of the 75,000 pri soner? confined in the gaals throughour India will be releated to-morrow as an act of clemency to commemorate the jubilee of Queen Victoria, In selecting the pri B cnei v to be liberated especial pains have beon taken to show cloineiacy to females, All persons imprisoned for debt throughout India, where the debt was under 100 rupees, will ulso be liberated in commemoration of the jubilee. In these caees the Government' will pay the debts,
