And tinged with Heaven's brightness The canopies of night. We spoke of the beautiful legond, O£ H'mvonV gatea i jar, And we f«lt that our own dear loved ones Were cot from e«rth afar ; We knew that oar Father's morcy Still tlcged part'a'a clouds with gold, That our hearts mi«ht feel rhe beauty His iovo doth oiill unfold. go wo watohed the fadint? euneet, And our Bpiritß breathed a prayer That over amid life's shadows This comfort we might eharo— To know tbat beyond tho suns >t Where gleanaeth fho Morning Star, We shall read life's beautiful story And enter the gatea ajar.
