The New Lord Chief Justice of Ireland.
Sir Michael Morris, Barb,, Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, ha* been appointed Chief Justice of Ireland, in succession to the Kight Hon. E. A. Way, retired. Sir Michael is the first Catholic who has occupied the position. Ho was called to the Bar in 1549, and is a native of Gal way. He was Solicitor-General in ISO 6, was appointed Attorney-General in 18G7, and had the conduct of the Fenian prosecutions in that year. He became a Judge of the Common Fleas division in the tame yeir, and succeeded the late Chief Justice Mona han as head of the Court. Sir Michael has always been a Conservative in politics. -*
