DISASTROUS EARTHQUAKES IN EUROPE.— GREAT LOSS OF LIFE. Homb, Feb 24. The earthquakes cxpeibnced yesterday in Northern Italy moved t) I>j an imrnenso disaster. The town of Dianinarim and several villages wore almost completely destroyed, and it is estimated that fully 1000 lives were lost. The earthquake extended over all Southern France and central Italy, and was especially severe in Genoa and Port Mauri/.0. Many residents of Nice are camping in the streets. Visitors to I Lilian watering places have fled by railway to seek lefugo on shipboard.

COLLISION IN SYDNEY HARBOUR. Sydney, Friday. A collision occurred last night botweon the Manly Beach Steamer 'Emu,' and the North Shore Ferry steamer, Waratah, close to the circular quay.
