Power of money.
We never did yet doubt the power of money in any phase o£ life, but this little incident shows how useful it may be under peculiar and trying circumstances : At a recent protracted meeting held in this city, one of the brethren became verynoisy and shouted and responded with his amene until he became a positive nuisance. The minister called, one of hie deacons up to the altar, and asked him if he wouldn't* manage somehow to stop the old fellow* noise The deacon went to see and talk a few* words to him ■ an undertone, and the* shouter at once became as quiet as ft spring lamb. After services were over the minister asked the deacon how he managed to quiet the old fellow so quickly, "Ob," replied the deacon, "the power of money did the business, I asked him for £5 to help spread the gospel that was. making him feel so good."— London Paper.
