Port Hamilton.
The "Japanese Gazette " gays: "The question of withdrawing from Port Hamilton appears to have been settled, the naval and military authorities of England evidently agreeing that it was not worth the cost of keeping, especially as a guarantee could be obtained from China that it should not pass into the hands of Russia. This agreement will no doubt feuit both England and the Celestial empire, but we doubt whether the transfer will please the Government of Japan."
