London, February 8. — Sir Charles Warren, the chief of the Metropolitan police, has forbidden the torchlight procession of the Socialists, which wee to take place in the West End of London to-night, to celebrate the anniversary of the previous Socialiet riots Mr Healy (Home Ruler) has been elected for Longford. Sir Charles Tupper states that England will subsidise a mail service from Vancouver to China and Japan. The amount ot the subsidy is £100,000 annually.
