A Cowboy Settles With a Dentist.

Clay Allison, of Lincoln County, New Mexico, is a cowboy of considerable fame in the vicinity of his ranch. Although advancing years bave made him less vindictive than he was, he still has a decided fondness for getting even with his enemies. Clay waß up in Cheyenne a few days ago with his "bunoh of steers,"- about 1,500 in number, which he sold at a good profit, and as he was suffering with toothache while there he went to a dentist to get relief. The dentist sized up the man as a cowboy with plenty of cash, and determined to make some money out of him j so, in stead of applying a little creosote to Clay's aching* tooth, he got him in hie dental chair and proceeded to bore a hoJe in, one of his best teeth for the purpose of filling it, which it didn't in the least need. He waa a clumsy quack, and broke about half the tooth off. Clay got mad, and left, and went .to another dentist, who repaired the damage at the expense of $25. Mr Allison, who fab ly thirsted for revenge, got it, too. He pro ceeded to the quack's office, seized a pah of his forceps, threw him down upon the floor, and in spite of the yells of the victim, inserted the instrument in his mouth and drew out one of his beat molars. Not con tent with this, he grabbed for another, and caught one of the front teeth, together with a large piece of the upper lip, and he was tugging away at it, when the agonise i shrieks and yells of the unfortunate dentist upon whose cheet Allison was pressing hi.knee, drew a crowd aad ended the matter.
