A Novel Rifle Competition.
A competition which attracted considerable attention amongst the regimental authorities has taken place on the Cesar's Camp ranges at Aldershot, when a section composed of nine non-comniipsioned officers of the 2nd Battalion Kilie Brigade lired against the Gardnor #un, worked by a wolltrained detachment under Lieut, the Hon. A. C. E. Somerset. The distances were 800, 900, and 1,000 yards, each aide was allowed to fire as many rounds as possible within the space of one minute at oach dis tance. The result was an easy victory for the section of non-commissioned officers, who scored 38 hit* at 800 yards, 34 at 900 yarcb, and 83 at 1000 yeu-ds, against 3S hits out of 195 rouo la by the Gardner gun at the tnree ranges, or only a little over one-thud ef the score made by the nine men>
