Remedy for Lung Worm and Fluke in Sheep.
Mr William Fox, of Alfied-street, writes to us as follows on the above subject :-- . The first-mentioned of these diseases has, I believe, in some seasons been very prevalent among sheep (particularly hoggets) in «ome parts of this colony, resulting in heavy losses to flockowners. I have heard and read of several remedies, but within my own experience none of them proved reliableOn the voyage from San Francisco last year I had the pleasure of travelling with Mr Thomas Lewis, of Hobart, who in the e&rlieat daye of New Zealand colonization was a resident and engaged in commercial business in Auckland. After leaving this oolony he engaged in sheep farming on n considerable hcoTw in Gipps Land, where ho personally managed hi<* runs. Conversation ■one day on board ship turning on the «bove diseases, he told me that he had a Temedy for this, which he had been in the habit of using Avith entire succe-s, and of "which lie has siuee kindly sent me the recipe. As it is not unlikclv that after the late heavy and protracted rains the lung "worm at least may make ite appear <mcc, you will perhaps think Mr Lewis' prescription worth publi<hing, and I have the pleasure of enclosing a copy.
