The labour market h improving, and work is becoming more plentiful. In addition to the large number of persons who have received temporary relief iv the way of food at the rrfiof deput, 1,525 persons have been furnished with emoloyment up to Tuesday last, and to-day, when the depot will eloso, the nu ni ber will have been increased' to 1,745, exclusive of 350 persons who have received free passes. 340 men wore turned away from the depot gates as undeserving of relief. It is stated that the man employed are for the most part working steadily, and;; obtaining satisfactory remuneration, , more e&pecially at Kurnell, whore good vragee are the rule.
