RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT. (Before H. A. Stratford, Esq., R.M.,) Tuesday, December 7, 1886.
CIVIL GASES. Smith and Seddon v. G. M. Burke : Claim £8 15s. goods sold and delivered. No appearance of defendant, who applied for an adjournment to enable him to have his evidence taken in Auckland. Adjournment granted till Dec. 21st. E. Quiim v. A. Milgrew : Claim £o 1-is, cash lent. There was no appearance of either party when the case was called, but plaintiff shortly afterwards appeared and permission was* granted him for fiesh summons to issue free of cost. Jas. Jackson v. Joseph Clarke: Claim £4c 8s 9d, for goods supplied. No appearance of defendant. Judgment by default for amount with costs 6s. The whole business of the Court only occupied about a quarter of an hour.
