THE NEW FRENCH EXPLOSIVE.
A Paris cor respondent says :— General Bou^ancjer took down a large and diatineuiehed company to Chavignon, in the Aisne, to witness further experiments with the now deetiuctive bombshells. The spectators wore more than startled ; they seemed terrified at the results. A strongly fortitied earthwork wag knocked to pieces in fifty shots. The new explosive substance, the composition of which is kept a secret, has buen given the name of melinite.
