Extraordinary Scene in a Church.
At Manchester (Eng. ) Mies Fanny Yaudrey, a lady of independent means, residing in Marahallplaco, Cheetham Hill, was summoned for -violent and indecent conduct in the Church of St, John the Evangelist, Cheetham. It was stated that the defendant went to the church at the beginning of the service and walked up the aiale in a very noisy manner, rustling her dress in a way that attracted much attention. She made a great noiee with her umbrella, and from time to time during the service ehe rapped tho front of the pew very loudly with her book She also coughed in a peculiar manner. When the curate wa* beginning to read the first lesson she, looking towards the clergyman, deliberately put her thumb to her noise and extended her fingers, doing what the prosecuting solicitor said he believed was familiarly called "pulling bacon." She then turned round to a gentleman who was sitting behind her and again did the bam 9 thing, directing the action at him. The ca9e wa3 adjourned,
