Reported Discovery of Captain Cook's Cairn.

Branch of the Geographical Society reporting the discovery of what he believes to be the cairn ereoted by Captain Cook during his visit to the Endeavour River. Whilat the City of Melbourne waa awaiting the arrival of the Jumna's mails on the 9th mat., Captain Thomson, with the Hon. H. LyttletOD and two othere, went in search of the cairn, which,tbey found on a bill 1,000 feet above the sea level Only the Captain and the Hon. H. Lyttleton reached the summit of the cairn, which had evidently remained untouched since it was erected. The erasa waß growing thickly around it, pnd a tree was also growing
