The Fading of Water Colours.

Mk William Simpson communicates the result of some interesting experiments on the durability of water - colours to the ' ' Times. " Fifteen years ago Mr Simpson took 31 pigments, including moat of those in general use, and painted them in stripes upon cards. cards were afterwards cut in two, and qno-half exposed to sunlight for thice hours in the morning and to the strong light of the room for the rost of the day. Here are Mr Simpson's list of colours and the result in a tabulated form :—: —
