A Beautiful Italian Legend.
It is a beautiful story that in one of the old cities of Italy, the King caused a bell to be hung in a tower in ono of the public squares, and called it " The Bell of Justice, 11 and eo'nmnnderl that anyono who had beea wiongorl should go and ring the bull, and f-o call tho ma^is-ti.jte of the city and ask and receive ju-tuo And when, in the course of time, thu !u«rr end of the boll rope rotted away, a wil.J vine was tied to it to lengthen it ; and on.-> rluy an old auti starving hor-e, that, had been abandoned by its owner and turned out to die, wat,dered into tho tower, and, in toying to eat the vine, rang the bell.
