An adjourned meeting of tlic To Aroha Domain Boaid was held on last Satuiday evening. The business was of! a routine character. Amongst other correspondence read was a communication fiom Dr Hector, Gcnernmont Analyst, stating that in icsponse to an applic.'ition made some time since by the Board, a Meteorological Station would shoitly be erected at Te Aroha. AKo defiling that the Board would f 01 \\\u d samples from the various springs for analyses by Dr Hector, as bad been requested. Three nine bottles each fr^m all the prineipd springs have since been carefully taken, and despatched for the purpose named. Next English and rCuropean mail via San Francisco closes at To Aroha Postoffice on Monday, November 8th, at 7.31 a.m. P.O. Oirlers pievious Satuiday at 10.30 a.m. Due London December 15th. On Satuiday last a rowing match, at Te Aroha, light \\* heavy Weight^, resulted in an easy win for the light weights. The half yeaily balance sheet of Piako County Council, appears in this issue. To-day, Mr J. F. Cocks will sell by public auction at hiy mart at noon, tlu privilege of: publicans booth in connection with the forthcoming Te Aroha llegatta, and subsequently furniture, produce, etc., as per advertisement. Attention is directed to Mr A, \V. Edwards new ad\eitisement, announcing the arrival of a large stock of new goods for spring and summer wear* Mr Edwards' price list is worthy of the peiusal of intending purchasers. Of boots Mr Edwards keeps u very large and sekct stock by thebest makers, which are sold at remarkably low prices. Mes&rs W. J. Hunter and Co., will hold their second bule of cattle at Mon'insville, on Thursday, for which 300 head are already entered , Already 1200 head of cattle have been entered for Messrs Buckland and Co*s Ohaupo live stock sale, November 11th. Special attention is directed to the advertisement announcing a series of exclusions to Auckland, on Nov. Gtli, 8th, and 9th, at veiy low fares Nov. 9th being the day of the Te Aroha RegaLU, and the Church Bazaar, we hope Mr Hudson will also despatch a special excursion at low faies from Auckland on that day as there can be little doubt many would avail of the opportunity to visit Te Aroha. We notice with A^erygieit re«iet, by the report in our Thames contemporary, confirmed b}' our Thames correspondent's telegram, respecting the Government enquiry at Thames, for the adjustment of assets and liabilities between Thames ana Ohinemuri Counties, it appears to have, so far, terminated most unfavourably for Ohinenuui ; but tiust si ch a liability as that stated, over £2,000, will not be allotted Ohinemuii, when the award i-s finally announced.
