A BANK IN DIFFICULTIES. Adelaide, October 14.

A large meeting of the shareholders of the Town and Country Bank was held in Adelaide on Monday morning in the Town Hall building. It was unanimously .deter- , mined to accept the proposal of the directors to amalgamate with the Commercial Bank of Australia, and that the shareholders in the Town and Country Bank shall receive payment for the shares, valued at £7. In reply to questions, Mr Clyde, the chairman of the bpard of directors, eaid that the Town and Country Bank had sue* tamed unexpected losses during the past half-year ; but he declined to say whether they would or would not be covered by the profits for the same term.
