TE ARQHA HOT SPRINGS* AS a SUMMER RETREAT not one among the SANATORIA of New Zealand is so rapidly becoming famous as TE AROIIA. The celebrity of its HOT SPRINGS is extending throughout the length and breadth of the Colony, and the WONDERFUL CURES effected by the Waters in eases of RHEUMATISM, GOUT, LUMBAGO, LIVER, AND KIDNEY COMPLAINTS, INDIGESTION, and Kindred Ailment", are urutcfully testified to in the Visitors' Book by Hundreds of Ptvsons who by their use have been re c toied to Health ami til its enjoyments. The place is par excellence the SANATORIUM OF THE PEOPLE. The CLIMATE in its HEALTH-GIVING PROPERTIES is .msm-pa^sed ; the COST OF LIVING is exceedingly MODERATE; and the locality is easy of access by river, rail, OR road from Auckland and the Thames. In addition to these advantages there are for the Robust abundant means of enjoyment in BOATING, RIDING, AND DRIVING, while for those in delicate health the neatly laid out Domain founs a most pleasant resort. The following analysis of the Waters by Mr J. A. Fonp, Colonial Analyst, and the accompanying extracts fiom his repent thereon to the Domain Board, will bo read with interest. The Samples were taken from the Springs, as numbered, the temperatures of which ranged fiom Iosdeg*. to 119degs. These Waters are all' feebly alkaline and stiongly charged with caibonic acid gas, which is constantly escaping from the Springs in large quantities. The Lithia, a valuable constituent of these Waters, is prepent in an appieciable quantity. The Analysis show these Springs to be very fiin ilar in composition. These Mineral Waters are exceedingly interesting, and will prove of great value medicinally. They closely resemble some of the Euiopean Mineral Springs so justly celebrated, more especially those of Vichy, Eu s, and Fachingen. Their Curative Value will be greatest in Rheumatic and Arthritic Diseases, Calculus, Affections of the Kidneys, and Djspepsia. You may rest assured that all you can do for your Springs in the bhape of improving the facilities for thenuse, is entirely justified by the character of the water.
