STORMS IN NEWFOUNDLAND.
. On August 18th a violent storm sfrepb over Newfoundland. < . StrPferre cables that in that placer buildings' a^e blown- down/ and considerable damage done 'to' the shippings, Two vessels' were- driven ashore and completely wrecked, and* several' men 1 badly hurt.' Dbg Island was< atrewn with the wrecks of 'fishing vessels/ arid! fears for the safety of* ''the Grand Bankß fishing fleet a¥e' entertained. ,At Black Inland, 1 a fishing ' skiff was* driven • on the rocks, ' «nd all hands perished. Five three^par skiffs are missting; and in all probability are Josi^'with all bands. At old Pelican, a' fishiug Vessel, was swamped, arid all hands 'petiehed/ Tw6> crafts were driven ashore' at Lead • Cov^ — ' one man drowned'and several seriously injured. 5 ' '
