The Australian Jockey Club's Meeting opened to-day at Randwick. One mile and a-half. Bon. J. White's eh c Trident, by Robinson Crusoe — Cocoanut 1 Mr Cooper's eh c Blairgowrie, by Vespasian — Atholine 2 Mr Stockton's b c Kingfish, by Piscatorious—Yatterina 3 Trident won oasily by six lengths. There was a great struggle between Blairgowrie and Kingfish for second place, the firstmentioned just doing the New Zealand bred horse' on the poet, The Epsom Handicap, a sweepstakes of 58ovs each, 1 ft, with 250sovs added. 3f or three-year elds and upwards. Second horse 50povs from the prize. One mile, Mr W. A. Sparke's blk h Zeno, 4yrs, by Goldsbrough— Avalanche ... .. 1 Mr G. Mattbewa's br h Goldlake, syrs, by Goldsbrough— Miss Phoebe ... 2 Mr H. Long's br f Crossfire, by Goldsborough — Powder f Hon J White's br f Acme, by Chester — Princess Maud 3 This race resulted in a dead heat between Tamarisk and Crossfire, Acme being third. Time, 2min 40^aec. The Richmond Stakes, for two-year-olds, was won by Yetman, a son of Julian Avenal and Vanity.
