A Spiked Boller for Grass land.

An American paper says : — A spiked roller drawn over winter-killed or turf-bound sod, will tear it up so that if topdressed with fine manure and seeded with grass seed bushed in, a pretty good catch can be obtained. The implement can be used to good advantage on side hills and pastures or other land that cannot well be ploughed. Richard Van Deusen of the Enfield (Ct.)i Shakers, has a home-made roller with spikes sticking out about three inches, which ho considers a very valuable and useful tool.
