OHINEMURI. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Paeroa, Friday.

A meeting of the Obinemuri School Committee was held in the school-house here on Friday evening last. Present: Messrs Lipsey (chairman), Coote, Edwards, Logan, Cock, and Corbett. Paeroa School. —lt was resolved to write to the Board of Education as to whai steps had been taken with regard to the appointment of a pupil teacher to succeed Mrs Sullivan who had tendered her resignation, and was desirous of being relieved of her duties at the end of the present month. Waitekauri School.—-The residents of this district wrote, informing the Committee that it was their intention to insure the above school house against all loss by fire, and requesting the Committee to obtain the sanction of the Board of Education for that purposed. Resolved : That the request be complied with. Mackoytown School. —The teacher, Mr Whitaker, wrote, informing the Committee that the building occupied as a school house had been burnt down, and that all the school furniture had been destrojed. Resolved : That the Committee visit both Karangahake and Mackaytown, with a view to ascertaining the most suitable place for the establishment of a new school. After passing several small accounts for payment, the Committee adjourneJ.
