THE WOOL MARKET. London, Sept. 7.

The N. Z. Loan an'd Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows :—Wool:: — Wool : The fourth series of sales opened to-day, there being an advance of 12£ per cent over last \ sales closing rates ; the attendance of both Home and Foreign buyers is good, and active competition prevails. The opening catalogue contained 13,000 bales. Sales will comprise about 325,000 bales, besides which 45,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. The Home wheat crop is estimated to yield 7,500 000 q uarters. Hops : The crop prospects are good, and it is expected the yield will prove ex- ' ceptioually good.
