THE STARK PURCHASE. Wellington, September 7.
The Premier has for some time back Been corresponding with Mr Mitchelaon, M.H.R., and others in Auckland, with regard to the proposed farther commission of inquiry into the North Shore property purchase scandal. In consequence of representations made as to the state of public feeling, the Government have resolved to issue a fresh Commission to take evidence in the • matter. The Commission will no doubt be held in Auckland. , tJ • 'The following telegrams have passed between Sir Robert Stpuc and Mr Dargaville, M.H.R. for City West, on the subject : — V J. M. Dareaville, Esq., M.H.R, Auckland : Re Stark. Have received letter from Mr Mitchelson, in wh^ich a charge is made against pne of the witnesses examined before Committee. We propose issuing a Comt mießion.,-r-IloBE»T Stout."
