THE BATTLE OF THE BOYNE.
Celebrations by Orangemen in Ireland and Canada. An Orangesoireo was given at the Rotunda Dublin,on July 12th, attended by 2000 persons. The hall was guarded by police. Thousands of Nationalists surrounded the building. Many placards were posted with the inscription : " We will pay you Orange dogs in Irish coin the lengdebt which Ireland owes all braggarts of theßoyne." At Armagh Major Saunders presided over a gathering of 2000 enthuastic Orangemen. There was afterwardsa procession, the routeofwhichwaa lined by 600 police and soldiers. Business was suspended. An Orange lodge in Coalistan, a small village in County Tyrone, four miles from Dungannon, was attacked by a number of men belonging to the National League, i The attacking party were armed with rifles, and kept up a tire for two hours on the lodge the police being powerless to interfere. Armed moonlighters last night attacked and took possession of two houses in Freemount and Kanturk, Cork County. Then they entered and severely beat the inmates. Serious rioting broke out at Belfast on July 13th between Catholics and Protestants, Many stones were thrown and revolvers were freely used. The military was called out to restore order. Many persons were injured and sent to hospitals.
