Parliament was formally opened 10-day by Koyal Commission. The Qneen'w Rpt-ocb, read on the occasion, was brief. It said the country had confirmed the conclusion arrived at by the last Parliament upon the proposed legislation of Ireland* The question of finances compelled the summoning o£ Parliament at this time, the present being the usual time of recess. Owing to the past labours of Parliament this year, Her Majesty recommended that only financial measures be considered during the session now opened.
