LATER. Divorce Proceedings Started. London, August 3rd.
It is reported that proceedings are to be instituted by the husband of Violet Cameron to procure a divorce on the ground of her adultery with the Earl of Lonsdale.
The man most anxious about his social position is the man who never bad any such position, though he has tried to buy it with money. A Chicago editor has discovered that "the five great evils of life are, a standing collar, a stovepipe hat, tight boots, a cross woman, and poor whisky." It is believed that he would cheerfully bear the first four; if the latter was remedied.
