TE AROHA HOT SPRINGS-
AS a SUMMER RETREAT not one among the SANATOLUA o£ New Zealand is so rapidly becoming famous as TE AROHA. The celebrity of its
nOT SPRINGS is extending throughout the length and breadth of the Colony, und the
WONDERFUL CURES
effected by the Waters in eases of RHEUMATISM, GOUT, LUMBAGO, LIVER. AND KIDNEY COMPLAINTS, INDIGESTION, and Kindred Ailments, arc gratefully testified to in the Visitors' Book by Hundreds of Pe.-sons who by their use have been re^toied to Health nad all its enjoyments. The place is par c~ecellcncp the SANATORIUM OF THE PEOPLE. The CLIMATE in its HEALTH-GIVING ! PPtOPERTIES is unsurpassed ; the COST OF LIVING is exceedingly MODERATE; and the locality is easy of access by river, rail, OR road from Auckland and the Thames. In addition to these advantages there are for the Robust abundant means of enjoyment in BOATING, RIDING, AND DRIVING, while for those in delicate health the neatly laid out Domain forms a most pleasant resort. The following analysis of the Waters by Mr J. A. Pond, Colonial Analyst, and the accompanying extracts from his report thereon to the Domain Board, will be read with interest. The Samples were taken from the Springs, as numbered, the temperatures of which ranged from Iosdegs. to 119degs. Fahr :—: — to *-* ,=5 •§ $? Total solid matter 857.829 822.184 811.702 Results expressed in grains per gallon. These Waters are all' feebly alkaline and strongly charged with caibonic acid gas, which is constantly escaping 1 from the Springs in large quantities. The Lithia, a valuable constituent of these Waters, is present in an appreciable quantity. The Analysis show these Spiings to be veiy similar in composition. These Mineral Waters are exceedingly interesting, and will prove of great value medicinally. They closely resemble some of the European Mineral Springs so justly celebrated, more especially those of Vichy, Errs, and Fachingen. Their Curative Value will be greatest in lihcumatic and Arthritic Diseases, Calculus, Affections of the Kidneys, and D} spepsia. You may rest assured that all you can do for your Springs in the shape of improving the facilities for their use, is entirely justified by the character of the water.
