PARI HA KA ENTERED DURING THE NIGHT.
(PaoM «»Stab" SpkciAt Tßwpo&tkr.) $ : Opunakb, July 20. Tb Whiti was anested during, the night. : Twelve men of the A.C., undeo SergeantMajor White, left here in conveyances at minnight. They were joined at Pringarehu by' other A.C. and the i police, under Inepeetor Pardy. All proceeded to Parihaka, and entered the sleeping village under the bright moonlight. .None were moving, but presently a boy came out who was caught and questioned as to the whereabouts of Te Whiti, he pleaded ignorance, as did a man subsequently caught. They were detained, and the party proceeded towards Te Whiti' house quarters. Presently Te Whiti's wife came out, and on being questioned showed the house, where Te Whiti was found ready dressed. He was arrested without the slight"estdemur, oa warrant, for inciting the natives to illegal tresp^sing. Buggies were waiting, and the prisoner was placed on board. The A.C. were then dismirsed to their respective stations, and the prisoner left in charge of. the Civil . police. All the latter fWere fully armed. ;... , ; The St«lla has juet arrived with. With the , arreete that have been mtde, and those to be made, the whole affair will be quickly over. .The natives are making no chow of resist -anceat this side of Parihaka. They say they will plough the land of Europeans if Te Wbiti teils them to.
