Wellington, July 6,^ Referring to the departure of the Kimberley expedition by the Triumph, the "Times" says :— <( We hear of three Wellington men taking with them an average of a thousand pounds apiece, and it has been estimated that the average capital of the Triumph's large number of passengers was not far short of £300 per man. Some left excellent farms in this province to seek their fortune in the new tropical goldfield."
