The New York " Tribune's " Macon (Ga.) special says : — About thirty two years ago the wife of James D. Edwards, then of Marion county, was found in her room hanging by her neck, dead. Edwards, his children and the community mourned her death by suicide. About seventeen yeara ago a negro testified before the Grand Jury that he was a runaway at that time, and waa standing in the chimney corner and saw Edwards get a rope and hang his wife. The Grand Jury thereupon indicted Edwards for murder. Edwards was not arrested, but he attended at every term of court for two years afterwards and endeavoured to obtain a hearing, but the State would not briug his case up. About fifteen years ago Edwards moved to Dale country, AJa., where he has lived ever since, until one day last week, when he was arrested upon the old warrant and brought back to Buena Vista, in this State, for trial. Since his wife's death hia children have grown up and he has married again, and has a family of younger children. Edwards is about 74 years old.
