LATEST FROM AUCKLAND. Auckland, L.^t Night. At the meeting of the Auckland Anglican Diocenan Synod, convened by the Bishop, a resolution was passed concmiing with the Presbyterians in protesting against the annexation of New Hebrides. At the Supreme Court, to-day, in the divorce case, Robert Fawcett v. Elizabeth Fawcett respondent, >md Win. E-lwaid Downing 1 , co-rospondent, His Honour granted a decree nisi with costs against co-respondent. New Plymouth, Last Night. The brigantine Star of Mersey anived water-logged. The ciew were taken off her and landed nt the Breakwater. Capt. Christian reports the vessel was bound from Kaiparu, to Dunedin, and spring a leak yesterday afternoon in the bow ; and being unable to keep the water down with the pumps he decided to run for New Plymouth harbour for shelter. The capt. and men wore thoroughly exhausted. After abandonment the vessel went ashore and became a total wreck. D jnkdin, Last Night. Direct steamer K.iikoura has arrived.
